Would you, or someone you know, like to be part of the team that ensures that Eden’s residents have a safe home and the best possible quality of life? On behalf of its residents Eden Farmed Animal Sanctuary is recruiting volunteers, interns and sanctuary maintenance staff.

These positions are opportunities to experience the privilege of working with and getting to know the individual personalities of rescued farmed animals, their histories, and their lives in a sanctuary setting. Staff members at Eden are encouraged to take an active role in using their skills and passion to assist in the development of Eden as a home of excellence for rescued farmed animals and to raise awareness of vegan abolitionist sanctuary work in Ireland.

Volunteers:

It is desirable that volunteers have previous experience in a sanctuary environment but we are also very happy to hear from people who do not have sanctuary experience but who are skilled in animal care, construction work (e.g. erecting and repair of fences), carpentry (e.g. repair of residents’ houses), or permaculture/veganic crop production. Volunteers can avail of onsite accommodation.

Animal Care Internships:

We have a limited number of internship positions available for people who are vegan, or genuinely interested in becoming vegan, and in learning more about the farmed animals on whose behalf they advocate. These positions are a wonderful way to gain insight into the work of caring for animals in a vegan, sanctuary setting and are the ideal opportunity for anyone who is interested in setting up a sanctuary. Interns can avail of onsite accommodation.

Sanctuary Maintenance Person

We have one stipend based position for a sanctuary maintenance person. Work includes cutting and strimming grass, carrying bags of food, buckets of water and bales of hay, in addition to basic construction and carpentry work. This position entails hard physical work and will suit someone who is fit and able to carry substantial weights.

Please write to us at edenanimalsanctuary@yahoo.ie for further information including application forms and job descriptions.

If you know someone who might be interested in these positions please inform them about the vacancies at Eden.
